History of Addiction

History of Addiction

How did addiction begin?  It’s a fascinating question to ask today.  With the anxiety of our fast paced culture at an all time high, it can leave one scratching their head to think of addiction’s beginnings.

Thousands of years ago, people had to do a lot of things in order to stay alive.  They had to build their own dwellings, kill their own food and actually fight others in order to claim their mates.  They couldn’t resolve their stresses by going to a Los Angeles hypnotherapy expert.

Scientists believe in order for us to survive, the human nervous system changed through the years and dealt with these types of hardships and stresses.  The nervous system found positive ways for us to tolerate these things.  If we did not like them back then, why do we still do these things today?  People who loved eating food the most looked harder to find it. The people who loved sex the most found more and better ways to find a companion. Both of these things did a lot to increase mankind’s ability to survive.  It made things easier for humans to procreate and pass these capabilities on to the generations after them.

The average lifespan of a caveman was 30 years.  Think how far we’ve come as humans.  We now see people regularly living past 100.  That said, modern existence is filled with real hardships and complexities,  yet there are real solutions available for making life better.  Don’t feel alone or helpless in facing your challenges.  Call Hypnosis-LA today for a complimentary, confidential consultation and experience the benefits of hypnotherapy in Los Angeles at: (310) 994-9532
