19 Jan The Key To Being Happy
Everyone is looking for ways to be happy. I also tend to look for ways to be peaceful and joyful because being happy is conditional. When we have to search so hard for anything, this means that we are looking in other places and not within. Happiness should come from deep inside of you and should not be something that has to be chased. Here are some simple things that can make a meaningful difference in your happiness!
1. Exercise at least seven minutes each day
Exercise is so important to human beings and our state of happiness, that studies have shown that it can help overcome depression. Exercise provides relaxation. It increases your brain power and improves the way that your body looks, even if you fail to lose weight.
According to the Journal of Health Psychology, when people exercise, they are more confident about their bodies.
2. Get more sleep
If you are not tired you will be able to react better when there is negativity surrounds you. Sleep allows your body to relax and recoup energy for the next day. It also helps you to concentrate and work harder. It might surprise you to learn that sleep it is also very important for our happiness. Wake up refreshed in the morning and it will make your whole day more positive.
3. Reduce your Commute
The drive to and from work can greatly impact your happiness. This is done two times each day on a weekly basis. We try to overcome dissatisfaction by buying a larger home or starting a higher paying job, but these things seldom do anything to make things better. If you must commute make sure you have a comfortable car and enjoy the ride!
4. Avoid regret and spend time with your family
Dying people always regret that they did not spend more time with family. If you want proof that spending time with the family is advantageous, there is proven research.
Being sociable is priceless when it comes to making your happier. This applies even to those who don’t get out much. There are plenty of studies that show that when you spend time with your family and friends, it makes you feel better overall.
5. Spend time Outside
No matter how busy your day is it only takes twenty minutes to take a short break and get some fresh air. This could be done on your lunch break. Get outside at least once a day.
6. Help others
Many people realize that they feel so much better, if they help others. It does not have to be a lot of time. Spending just two hours a week helping others will do so much to make you a happier person. Spending money on other people makes you happy, so why can’t you spend time on them instead?
7. Smile often
Putting a smile on your face usually makes you happy, but your well-being is even better when you smile and have happy thoughts too. Quite naturally, your smiles should be from ear to ear.
8. Plan a trip
Different from going on a holiday, it appears that just going on a vacation or taking a few days from work can make you a happier person.
9. Meditate
If you want a way to improve your concentration, focus and attention span, then meditation is one of the best ways to do it. It can also do a lot to make you a happier person. Meditation helps you to relax and makes you focus better.
10. Be More Grateful
This might seem almost too easy, but it can make you think differently overall. There are plenty of ways in which you can become more grateful. You could start a journal that lists the things that you are grateful for. Or, share these things with your family and friends. Gratitude is a key to shifting your mind set and bringing more joy into your life!
