Learning how to relax and let go
We live in an age where speed and being busy are part of every day life. We have jobs to do, goals to accomplish, bills and loans to pay off, kids and families to take care of etc.
The more elements we have in our lives, the more unpredictable our days can be.
At times things seem to be out of control. We feel stressed, tense or overwhelmed.
Over time, all that businesses can affect many parts of our life: our energy levels, our health, patience, sleep patterns, our weight, focus, happiness, relationships etc.
It is important to find ways to relieve stress, to relax and get more energy, even if it is just for a few minutes a day. When our cups are full, everyone in our life benefits.
A hypnotherapy session is one of the best ways to relax and rejuvenate your body in a short period of time, to gain clarity and peace of mind and to have more energy.
However, if you do not have access to hypnotherapy, here are some thing you can do on your own, that will help you have more peace in your life:
– Exercise regularly – walks, stretching, weight lifting, cardio
– Eat healthy, nutritious foods. Our diets can have an impact on your energy and stress levels
– Believe in yourself. Believe that you are capable and worthy
– Have a positive attitude
– Live in the moment. Our minds always have a tendency to drift into the future (think about what we have to do) or in the past (think about what we could or should have done)
– Simplify your life, declutter
– Find joy in little things
– Make time for people, even if you just meet them for a coffee, or call them once a week
– Pursue a hobby
– Say No more often
– Read a book
– Journal about your feelings or how your day was
– Get a massage
– Take a bath
– Meditate
– Be gentle with yourself
Also, here is a relaxing exercise that takes only a few minutes, and can be done almost anywhere (at home, office or even a park).
– If possible, create a peaceful setting. Silence your phone. Put some relaxing music on, dim the lights, burn a candle or incense.
– Find a comfortable position, take some nice, deep breaths in and allow your eyes to close.
– Notice for a moment your surroundings: the air around your face and hands, any noises in the background, the chair or support underneath you, the weight of your clothing.
– Notice your thoughts and feelings without engaging in them, and continue to breathe slowly and deeply. With each breath, your body becomes more still and more relaxed.
– Gently bring your attention to your feet and allow them to relax. Every little muscle in your feet relaxes. Now slowly bring that relaxation up through your entire body, relaxing every muscle in your legs, relaxing you knees and your hips. Your abdomen, and chest muscles.
– Let your shoulders drop. Relax your arms and hands. Your back and spine. The deepest muscles and nerves in your back relax.
– Now allow your neck, jaw, facial muscles, your forehead and temples to relax.
– Feel this wave of relaxation expanding and circulating around your entire body. Notice if there is any remaining tension anywhere, and then relax those body parts.
– Take a few more deep breaths in, and when you are ready open your eyes and slowly move your body, coming back to full consciousness.
