How To Be A Success

How To Be A Success

Success begins with our thinking. The average person has about 55,000 thoughts/day. Most of these thoughts are unconscious. And these unconscious thoughts drive our lives. They determine our level of success, our moods, how we perceive our world, how we feel and our level of happiness.

Thoughts are very powerful. Since we are going to think anyway, why not become good thinkers who can create peace, harmony, success, good relationships, health and abundance in our lives?

We become what we most think about. Our health, physical strength, our relationships, finances, habits, behaviors and patterns are all affected by the way we think.

Good thinkers solve problems, create opportunities, connect with other people better, always have hope for the future and never lack ideas. A person who knows ‘how’ may always have a job, but the person who knows ‘why’ will always be his boss.

As David Schwartz said ” Where success is concerned, people are not measured in inches or pounds, or college degrees, or family background; they are measured by the size of their thinking”.

Those who develop the process of good thinking can rule themselves, even when faced with adversity or when under pressure. Good thinkers are always in demand and can achieve success more easily, however one good thought doesn’t make a good life. Good thinking is a habit. The ones who have one good thought and try to ride it for an entire life or career often times end up being unhappy or destitute. They are the one-time inventors, one-book authors etc. Success in life comes to those who have an entire gold mountain to mine, not only one nugget that they try to live on for fifty years.

The way people think separates the successful from the unsuccessful. If you want to become a better thinker, you have to work at it. It doesn’t just happen. Nobel prize winning physicist Albert Einstein said that “Thinking is hard work; that’s why so few do it”. And he was right. We have to intentionally engage into thinking quality thoughts as often as we can and not let our minds run wild, we also need to become aware of what’s going on in our minds, and choose consciously what to focus on.

As a strategic intervention coach, I learned that if you change your thinking, you can change any aspect of your life. By taking the time to learn how to change your thinking, you become a better thinker, with a sharper mind, you are more in charge of who you are, how you react to people and situations and the level of success you rise up to; you are investing in yourself, in your future.

If we always do what we have always done, we will always get what we’ve always got. In order to get different results, we need to change the way we look at things, we need to change our thinking.

How can we change our thinking?

To generate a lot of good ideas, you have to repeat the process of good thinking over and over again, and create mental momentum. It is necessary to not dwell on negative thoughts, but rather look for solutions and opportunities to grow and learn.
Always capture your ideas. Put them on paper if necessary. Analyze them. As you shape your thoughts, you find out whether an idea has potential, you learn about yourself, what you really want and how to get there. You will discover your humorous side, your passions, creativity, excitement and humility. Spend time with your ideas. Learning how to focus and concentrate on what’s important is the secret to building a better life. Eliminate distractions. Focus on good, empowering thoughts. What we focus on, persists and grows stronger.

Popular thinking is comfortable and accepted but it doesn’t get you far. Dedicate yourself to the process of transformation. Learn discipline. Be different. Have a vision. Focus on details. Don’t limit yourself. Reflect on the big picture. Follow through. Make it fun. Be patient. Changing your thinking pattern is a process. But the result is worth it. Have faith and stay positive.

What we put in, always impacts what comes out. So expand your horizons, learn as much as you can, take risks, read a lot of books, listen to tapes, ask a lot of questions, try new things, set new, bigger goals, spend time with people who inspire you, who challenge you to grow and be all you can be. Conquer yourself and the world around you.
